The Chicago Tribune and New York Times have reported that Cho Seung Hui, the Virginia Tech shooter who killed 32 fellow students in a shooting rampage, was taking antidepressant drugs. This is not the first time a school shooting rampage has been linked to antidepressants. "...virtually all of the gun-related massacres that have made headlines over the past decade have had one thing in common: They were perpetrated by people taking Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Paxil or a related antidepressant drug."

Dr. David Healy Irish psychiatrist has stated "Prozac and other SSRI can lead to suicide" and he has been a critic of SSRI's.

Dr. Joseph Glenmullen author Prozac Backlash testified at the FDA hearings that resulted in the recent warning that antidepressants make patients, including children and adolescents, suicidal. The warning covers all ten of the currently popular antidepressants: Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, Effexor, Celexa, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Luvox, Remeron, and Serzone.
